This year, Blood Donor Week runs from 8-14 June, coinciding with the build up to Scotland’s first World Cup match in 28 years. To capture the moment and inspire action, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service is rolling out the ‘Yes Sir I’m a Donor’ campaign across the tournament period.
We know that major football moments can impact donation levels. Following Scotland’s World Cup qualification match, blood donation attendance fell by over 20%. With fewer than 2% of the population currently active donors, and demand expected to rise over the summer, we urgently need donors to step forward now.
