Order Your Repeat Prescription Online

IMPORTANT MESSAGE – March 2022

We now have access to an online service called ‘patient services’ which will link to your medical record and allows you to access your repeat prescription and book and cancel appointments online. As it links directly with your medical record, there are future plans to give you access to results and much more of your medical record.

If you would like to engage with our online service, please contact the surgery on nhsh.gp55841-reception@nhs.scot with your name, address and date of birth.

One you are registered, you will be sent a token code electronically which will allow you to fully register to access your prescriptions for ordering.

Please note: If you currently use our online service via our website (www.riversidemed.co.uk) this will no longer be active as of March 2022 and we will ask you to move over to our new service as mentioned above.

If you are having trouble registering for the above but still need to request your medication, please email your details and request to nhsh.gp55841-prescriptions@nhs.scot

Repeat Prescriptions

If you take regular medications then we attach a list of your medicines to each prescription. Use the latest list to let us know which medicines you require. Any amendments to the repeat prescription list can only be made with the doctor’s permission and will take longer to process.

You can then get your request to us in three ways as follows:

  • Online – please click on the link at the top of this page to request a repeat prescription online (please note the contraceptive pill cannot be ordered online – this prescription is obtained from the Practice Nurse when you attend your annual review appointment)
  • Pop it into the box inside or outside the entrance to the practice.
  • Post it to the practice including a stamped addressed envelope if you want the prescription posted back.

This following NHS Highland video explains the reasons why changes may be being made to some prescribed medicines  https://youtu.be/PU0hUB36elY.

It is no longer possible to request repeat prescriptions over the phone.

Some of the pharmacies are able to accept your repeat prescription request and bring it to the practice. Check with your local pharmacy whether they offer this service.

All prescriptions are sent to you usual Pharmacy. (If you need to change your usual Pharmacy, please contact the surgery) They should NOT be collected from the surgery, unless asked by a GP.

If you request your prescription to be forwarded to a particular pharmacy, please allow an extra day before collecting from them as your chemist may not collect from us on a daily basis.

EMRGENCY PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS

We are unable to provide emergency prescriptions. If you need an emergency supply of medication, please contact your usual pharmacy.

Attached Pharmacy

There is an independent partnership (Lloyds Chemist) next door to the surgery. They are open from
09:00 – 18:00 weekdays and 09:00 – 12:00 on Saturdays.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Please allow three full working days for prescriptions to be processed and sent to pharmacies and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
