Appointments may be made in person or by telephoning during opening hours on telephone number 715999. We operate a computerised appointments system, which is accessed by your name and date of birth.
Many doctors are not in every day. If the problem is able to wait a few days you have more chance of seeing your named doctor.
If your named doctor or nurse is on annual or sick leave, you will be offered an alternative appointment with another doctor or nurse.
If you need an urgent appointment you will be seen that day, but not necessarily by your named doctor. Please let the receptionist know if you feel that you need seen urgently and give the reason where possible to help us assess and prioritise your request.
GPs and Nurses on the Telephone
There are times set aside each day when a doctor or nurse is available to consult with you on the phone. Contact us on 715999 and the receptionist will help you find a suitable time when the doctor you want is free to talk to you.
Many patients find telephone consultations useful and convenient as often they are simply seeking advice from the GP or Nurse and do not require a physical examination.
If you ask to speak to a doctor in an emergency we aim to put you through to a doctor within five minutes.
If you need an urgent appointment you will be seen that day but not necessarily by your own doctor. Please let the receptionist know you need to be seen urgently and give the reason where possible to help us assess and prioritise how quickly you need to be seen. You will be added into the doctor's surgery if there are no available appointments.
If you have been referred to hospital and are anxious to know when you will be seen or reviewed, contact Raigmore Hospital directly on 704000, or check your hospital letter or appointment card for a department telephone number.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
